Carnitas, white rice with lime and cilantro, black beans, sour cream, cheese. and mild salsa...in a BOWL. |
Today I had the pleasure of spending some
time downtown - skating, eating, and shopping, with some cool people of course.
Skating and shopping was the easy part but deciding on a place to eat proved to
be a challenge...When you’re in the heart of the city, especially Toronto, there’s
literally every type of food available within walking distance. Finally, we
settled on Chipotle. I've eaten at Chipotle many times before and I keep coming
back (some might say I'm obsessed) because it's...awesome?
The food is delicious and simple. I really detest places
with huge menus and that doesn't happen at Chipotle because they basically sell
one dish that is customized to your liking. That means that deciding what you
want is a breeze and you can be guaranteed that whatever you end up
with will be good because they make it every single day. Chipotle also prides
itself for creating 'Food with Integrity', focusing on using naturally raised
animals, supporting and sustaining farmers, and using locally sourced
ingredients. The atmosphere is great for good conversation and eating. Most
importantly, you get a good quality, filling meal inexpensively. There's a reason
why Chipotle is so popular with university students...

Keep on enjoying the break! It'll be over
before you know it...

...can I help you? |
Very, very, very cool people.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late comment OTL but it's difficult commenting on an ipod :l omg.
ReplyDeleteAnyways I had a great time reading both your articles :) and I'll guess I'll comment on both of them here...
As for the salted caramel cupcakes, I guess we found out why they were so salty haha. At least we now know what not to do if we wanted to bake them. Your cupcakes weren't bad tho.
I actually never ate at chipotles before. It sounds like a nice and cool place to eat :)
Hey RC,
DeleteThank you for visiting my humble blog and I'm glad you enjoyed the two posts :)
You were a brave soul for eating two of those salty messes and I applaud you for your taste buds of steel and dedication to our friendship.
Chipotles is great - you should definitely try it. I think you'd like it a lot!
Hey Erica :)
ReplyDeleteSo I'm guessing from the picture at the top, restaurant is in or near the Eaton Centre?
The food sounds quite good, and "inexpensive" just draws me in even more, haha
I should go there sometime
Hey Chihiro
DeleteYou got it! Chipotles on the AMC building side of Yonge. You should definately go there sometime for a cheap breakfast/lunch/dinner.
The closest I've tried to anything like this was a mexican burrito.... like... thing.
ReplyDeleteTbh, I haven't really got a chance to go around to the resteraunts of Toronto to see what they have to offer, which is probably a bad thing, seeing as how multi cultural Canada is. Seeing this posts makes me want to go out and see exactly what Toronto has to offer, but I feel it's too much of a venture, if you don't like the food you end up wasting it (and feeling horrible), and you also feel horrible about losing your money. Anyway, you should post more multicultural things more often :)
Chipotle isn't exactly authentic Mexican, more like Mexican-inspired American food. Either way, it's still delicious. You should go sometime! It's extremely close to the Eaton Centre - not exactly a large trek.
DeleteAs far as the fear of trying new foods go, I feel you. You could always buy one portion and split it with friends..it's a good way to expand your palate.
WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MANY GOOD IDEAS.
ReplyDeleteThe next time I go to a restaurant I'll pick the most exotic thing on the menu and force other people to eat it >:D
